Ingredients
  • 1 pound(s) Mushrooms raw
  • 1 cup(s) No-Salt-Added Tomato Sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon(s) Salt
  • 5 ounce(s) Red Bell Pepper sweet, fresh, raw
  • 5 ounce(s) Onion
  • 2 tablespoon(s) Ketchup
  • 2 tablespoon(s) Barbecue Sauce
  • 6 100 % Whole Wheat Hamburger Rolls
Instructions
  1. Pulse the mushrooms in batches in a food processor until finely chopped. Set aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onions and cook, stirring frequently, until the onions are lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Add the peppers and cook, stirring occasionally, until the peppers are crisp-tender, about 3 minutes. Add the mushrooms, black pepper and salt and cook, stirring frequently, until the mushrooms are just cooked through, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the tomato sauce, ketchup and BBQ sauce and 1/8 teaspoon salt and cook while stirring until the sauce is the consistency that you like, about 2 minutes.
  4. Spoon the mixture onto each bun. Serve with toppings if desired.
